FAQ

The following is a collection of frequently asked questions and answers. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us!

1. Why should I choose concrete over asphalt, brick or wood?

Concrete provides unmatched durability over these other alternatives. Concrete is a low maintenance solution that will not rut or sag and does not allow weeds to grow through. With many colours, patterns and finishes, the personalized look of concrete is what sets it apart.

2. How thick will the concrete be poured?

The industry accepted standard is four inches unless otherwise specified.

3. How long will I need to wait before I can use my new concrete surface?

Concrete has a long curing process which is what gives it it’s superior strength. We recommend waiting forty eight hours after the pour before you walk on your new concrete surface and seven days until you set furniture on or drive on your new concrete.

4. Is the concrete reinforced?

When pouring against a foundation, we insert 10mm rebar into the wall. This prevents the concrete from rising or falling and ensures the slope of the pad will continue to drain water in the proper direction. All of our jobs are poured with 10 gauge wire mesh in them. Fiber glass can be added to the concrete by the concrete supplier for increased durability upon
customer request.

5. How long will the job take?

Each job varies in length depending on size and complexity. However, an average sized driveway, patio, and sidewalk is usually completed in three days or less.

6. Should I seal my concrete?

Sealer is principally a cosmetic application that varies in appeal from person to person. Sealer can help retain secondary colour from the stamping process as well as protect the concrete from light staining. Sealer is applied a minimum of 28 days after job completion and is not included in the initial quote.
